General Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must hold either:

  • a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution recognized by the University of Florida Graduate School, or
  • a DVM degree from a veterinary college recognized by the University of Florida Graduate School.

International degrees must be considered equivalent to a U.S. four-year bachelor’s degree.

Applicants are generally expected to hold a degree in a natural science, forensic science, criminal justice, criminology, anthropology, veterinary medicine, or a closely related field. Applicants with degrees outside these areas may be considered based on relevant professional experience and are encouraged to contact the program prior to applying.

Minimum GPA Requirements

  • Master’s Degree: 3.0 upper-division undergraduate GPA
  • Graduate Certificate: 2.0 upper-division undergraduate GPA
  • Non-Degree Enrollment: 2.0 upper-division undergraduate GPA

International Applicants

Additional requirements apply for international applicants and applicants whose native language is not English, including English proficiency documentation and transcript evaluation requirements.

Application Dates

Applications are reviewed by admission term. Applicants are encouraged to apply early to allow time for application review, admission processing, and course registration.
